White Wine Lemonade
Delicious Lemonade made with a wonderful white Chardonnay is so refreshing on a warm summer evening at the patio, or for summertime celebrations!
White Wine Lemonade
2 quarts Lemonade (This can be made from frozen concentrate, or make your own with fresh lemons and sugar)
1 sliced lime
1 sliced lemon
1 handful of cleaned, washed basil flowers and leaflets
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, peeled and sliced thin
1 Bottle of Chardonnay or any dry white wine
Options: You can float strawberries in the glass or pitcher. Daisies will really set off the pitcher, just pick a few and destem and rinse under water. Blueberries are great too. Flavor with fruit juices like watermelon juice or frozen juice cubes. You can also make lemon ice cubes or other frozen fruit juices to chill the beverage.
Add Ginger, any berries or fruit, and fruit juice to a pitcher or punch bowl. Add lemonade and wine and give it a good stir. Garnish with the daisies and lemon lime slices. Float prepared iced juice in the bowl to help chill.
To make lemonade ahead of time (it needs to chill):
Place 2 cups water in a saucepan. Add 1 cup sugar and heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring. Allow this to cool. Add one cup lemon juice from fresh squeezed lemons, or reconstituted lemon juice. Place in a 2 quart pitcher, fill with cool water and stir. A cinnamon stick or a teaspoon of vanilla really adds a great soft flavor.
